P13 DOWN
P13 was involved in a head-on collision on the evening of May 17th, 2022 at or around 9:30pm in Mineola, Texas.
While traveling West-bound on LP564, through the intersection of SR37, the driver of a 1997 Nissan Altima traveling in the opposite direction made a left hand turn onto North-bound SR37 without yielding. We both had a green light, but he did not have a green arrow. Between my deceleration, and his acceleration, the estimated speed of impact was about 50mph. The entire front end of the ST was damaged including the bumper, fenders, crash bumper, hood, and airbag deployment. The engine was pushed far enough back to begin intruding into the passenger compartment.
The driver of the Nissan was 19-year-old Michael Dawson of Mineola, Texas. Dawson did not have insurance on the vehicle, did not have a Driver’s License, and did not have current registration. Dawson was accompanied by a 14-year-old female minor.
A witness to the collision contacted 9-1-1 and gave his statement to Mineola Police confirming the state of the traffic lights at the time of impact, and that the Nissan did not yield.
I sustained minor injuries including bruising on the chest and left shoulder, two sprained wrists, and a minor thyroid storm brought on by the stress.
This situation is under investigation by Mineola Police and my Insurance.

This is my new daily. While I love P12, it doesn’t do well in Texas heat since it doesn’t have air conditioning working at the moment. Road trips, rallies, and the 2024 WESTRIP fundraiser rad trip for Colon Cancer Research. I have so many wonderful memories in P5 including picking up my dog for the first time, first camping trip in Yosemite with my dog and best friend, my first Rally series with Life in Sixth Gear (LSG) rally, and having it displayed at the first GRC Rally, SEMA, and being used for R&D For so many reputable companies. It was an exciting car to own. I wanted the excitement back, so I got another one.
While I would love to go big-turbo, and make this thing an ‘Ecobeast’ as some say, I really enjoy it with just a few small changes, and I need to keep it daily-able. Who knows where this will go. I have ideas in mind of what I’d like it to look like, but my mind changes every 10 seconds, so follow along here and on Instagram for the latest.
