P4 - SPYRO

"Spyro," or "P4" as I affectionately called it, was my fourth Ford Focus and undoubtedly the most significant one I ever owned. This car wasn’t just a mode of transportation; it was a constant companion through some of the most pivotal moments of my life. From the long cross-country drives between San Diego and Baltimore to the countless road trips in between, Spyro was my refuge, a place where I found solace during my time in the U.S. Navy and my transition to civilian life. This car saw it all, from the early days of my enlistment to the challenging yet rewarding journey of college life.

Spyro wasn't just about the memories; it was a testament to my passion for modifying cars. Over the years, it went through several phases, each one reflecting a different chapter of my life. From custom body kits to performance upgrades, Spyro was always evolving. It was a car that turned heads and sparked conversations, but more importantly, it was a car that I poured my heart and soul into. The countless hours spent in the garage, the late-night drives, and the feeling of pride every time I got behind the wheel—these are memories that will stay with me forever.

When I decided to purchase a new 2013 Focus ST, I knew it was time to pass the torch. It was a difficult decision, but it led to one of the most meaningful friendships of my life. I met Chris Dorsey while working at a bike shop in Ventura, CA. We started as acquaintances, but when he saw Spyro and learned it was for sale, he didn’t hesitate to buy it. That moment marked the beginning of a friendship that would see us through countless adventures, including a move to Texas. Chris took Spyro to the next level, adding an FSwerks Turbo kit, Sparco seats, and an F2 RS front bumper, making the car faster and more aggressive than ever.

Sadly, Spyro's journey came to an unexpected end when it was involved in an accident that caused damage beyond its value at the time. Chris decided to sell the car, and from that point on, its fate became a mystery. Although I don’t know where Spyro ended up, the impact it had on my life is something I’ll always cherish. It wasn’t just a car—it was a part of my story, a bridge between the chapters of my life, and a symbol of the friendships and experiences that shaped who I am today.
